West Virginia has four ICEEFT approved EFT Supervisors, and one Supervisors-in-Training: Christie Eastman, Shelley Coleman, Charley Bowen, Angie Juniper, and Eugenie Taylor. All are able to provide supervision toward EFT Certification. Therapists who work with couples and families who do not plan on getting certified in EFT can also benefit significantly from individual EFT supervision. Click the "Therapists and Supervisors" button on the home page for more information about these local supervisors.
Our local supervisors offer individual and group supervision on request. During the pandemic, our regular group supervisions have been paused. However, if you are interested in becoming part of an EFT supervision group, contact any of the EFT supervisors (listed to the left) to talk to them about your interest.
Our Certified EFT Therapists and Supervisors provide workshops periodically throughout the state including EFT introductions, Advanced EFT introductions, and special topics in EFT, such as EFT with sexual addiction, EFFT (family), EFFT with step-families, and EFT and affairs. Keep your eye on this section and on our calendar of events to see upcoming workshop announcements!
The best place to find information about getting started with or continuing in your journey toward EFT certification, go to the ICEEFT website at: ICEEFT.com and go to: Therapist Resources - Therapist Training.
Becoming a Certified Emotionally Focused Therapist is not only a much sought after credential, it is a distinction that is earned after active participation in the requisite ICEEFT endorsed trainings, completing the requisite supervision hours with an ICEEFT EFT supervisor, submitting samples of your work with couples and/or families to ICEEFT for review along with an application that supports your qualifications toward receiving the certification. For more detailed information about certification, go to ICEEFT.com.
The International Center for Excellence in Emotionally Focused Therapy (ICEEFT) is the organization that oversees the training, resourcing, networking, and certification of EFT / EFFT therapists, supervisors, and trainers worldwide. Located in Ottawa, it can be visited online at ICEEFT.com. All trainings, books, DVD's and other resources listed on the ICEEFT website (ICEEFT.com) are ICEEFT endorsed, meaning that the quality and content are consistent with ICEEFT's standards, mission, vision, and purpose, and are produced by ICEEFT or ICEEFT approved trainers, supervisors, or therapists. Many ICEEFT approved EFT/EFFT trainings are going on throughout the year, and many can be accessed through ICEEFT's main website. Although your local EFT West Virginia community is working hard to bring trainers to our state, and to provide EFT and EFFT workshops and supervision in-state, we also highly encourage couple and family therapists in our area to review other EFT/EFFT training opportunities going on in other parts of the country and world.
