Karole Hayes

Karole is a Licensed Professional Counselor in West Virginia. She graduated from Marshall University with a master’s degree in counseling in 2008. Following graduation, Karole worked with at-risk youth as a school counselor for Institutional Education, and Putnam County Schools. In 2014, she was invited to join the staff team at River Ridge Church in Teays Valley as the Kids Ministry Director where she remained for 8 years. Returning to counseling in 2022 to present, Karole now specializes in individual and couples counseling using Emotionally Focused Therapy. She has completed training for both Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy (EFCT), Emotionally Focused Individual Therapy (EFIT), and is currently pursuing certification.

Karole believes it is an honor to walk alongside her clients in working through issues with anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, and relationship struggles. Many of her clients find her background in ministry an essential component of their treatment, as they are able prioritize their connection to God and growing in their faith.

Karole has been married to her husband Blair for over 20 years, and they enjoy a busy life with three kids who keep their lives full! She is a homebody by nature and thoroughly enjoys a weekend at home with a good book, coffee and time to nap. 

She looks forward to offering support to her clients, making each person feel heard and seen, as they navigate through life’s journey. Karole's hope is that each client feels cared for, finds insight, and leaves each session feeling comforted and relieved.
